i'm home from cruising the Caribbean!!
what an amazing 10 days we had. when i arrived home to the Tdot my family was
giddy with excitement although you could never tell from the expression on my mothers freshly botoxed face. she did look beautiful though... throughout the entire trip she took great pains to keep that new face out of the hot Caribbean sun while my sister and i tried our best to expose every single each of our skin to it. i have to say i do have an amazing tan. by far my favorite island was Barbados and then Aruba. the beaches were spectacular, stretches of white sand and clear blue water as far as the eye can see.
we were in Barbados Christmas eve and didn't leave port until midnight, that's about when the sun stroke kicked in i began puking. for the next 24hrs i was very ill. when we arrived in Aruba the following morning i couldn't even get out of bed for our snorkeling trip. i laid in our dark state room until the afternoon when my family returned, i dragged myself out with them back to the beach for awhile and for some sight seeing. every now and then i had to duck in behind a building to retch up nothing! i have to be the only person who's lost weight on a cruise...
its really amazing how quickly you can get into the cruise mentality of relaxing and not caring about much. every whim is taken care of, over indulgence is promoted and encouraged without guilt. everyone walks around with a huge smile on their face always with a fancy drink in hand...
we didn't have any luck locating our family in either Barbados or Aruba... i had no idea that my grandmas brother lived in Aruba. apparently they knew we were coming but they only speak dutch and didn't know how to reply to our email..
another one of my favorites was Puerto Rico, that's where we departed from. old San Juan was really interesting. the history and the architecture was breath taking as were the beaches. oh i miss the beaches... i miss being in my bikini all day, being bare foot and hanging out with my sister. i'm happy to say my family made it through this vacation with minimal disturbances. so! from Puerto Rico we went to St. Thomas then to Martinique, Barbados and finally Aruba! its nice to be home but i really rather be back on the beach and floating in the ocean.. ahhhh...
i did miss my phred, i have my suspicions that something happened when i was gone, i can't say what but my intuition tells me something isn't completely right...
anyway, tonight were heading over to a friends house for a chill new years eve. this morning on the way home from dropping phred to work i hit and killed a pigeon. i feel like that's not such a good way to end the year..
